We will be visiting my husband's family very soon and to me it is a nice
opportunity to prepare some special and unique gifts for them. Today I share with you one easy project: A
Notebook that I have decorated with some vintage graphics.
Just with few elements and in few steps a simple blank notebook can be
decorated in any style making it different from the rest. This notebook
is for my young cousin who is in College and I'm sure no other classmate will
have the same one.
An architectural background paper, some postage
stamps, an antique clock and a couple of Vintage ladies are the main focus of
the collage.
For the inside the notebook I choose a beautiful
graphic of a greek lady for the back of the cover and a vintage clock for the
first page.
The materials or supplies I used in this project are:
Materials:
- A blank notebook
- Vintage prints (ladies, clocks and others of your preference)
- Scissors & brush
- Postage stamps
- Mod Podge
The easy steps are:
1. Print the background paper and the graphics you want to use and seal them to prevent the ink from running. You can seal them with a fixative in spray or a mixture of white craft glue with water. Let it dry and then cut them.
2. Glue the background paper to the notebook with Mod Podge or any white craft glue you have in hand, and then continue with the graphics and postage stamps. Create your own collage. This particular notebook had a soft paper stripe on the left of the cover, in orange color, so I decided to maintain that color and only glue the paper to the rest of the cover.
3. Once everything is dry, give 2 coats of Mod Podge to protect the whole project and the collage is done!.
This collage is ready, now few more gift ideas are running through my mind and then I'll be ready to go.
